Oswego Health announced that it has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for hospital, behavioral health care, and human services accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s nationally recognized performance standards. This prestigious reaccreditation applies to Oswego Hospital, the Lobdell Center for Mental Health and Wellness at Lakeview, and the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).
The reaccreditation follows a rigorous, unannounced onsite review conducted on April 24, during which a team of Joint Commission surveyors assessed Oswego Health’s adherence to critical healthcare standards. Areas reviewed included emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, patient care and the rights and responsibilities of the individual.
The Joint Commission’s standards are developed with input from healthcare experts, providers, patients, and scientific literature to ensure they represent best practices across the care continuum. The survey process included in-depth reviews, onsite observations, and staff interviews.
“This reaccreditation is more than a recognition — it’s a reflection of the unwavering commitment our staff demonstrates each and every day,” said physician Wajeeh Sana, chief medical officer at Oswego Health. “It takes exceptional teamwork, clinical excellence and a relentless focus on our patients and community to earn this recognition. I am incredibly proud of our team for rising to that challenge and continuing to deliver the highest standard of care, close to home.”
