• Rome Health constructed a 30,000 square foot addition for a new surgical center to provide modern ORs with the size and flexibility to accommodate continuous advancements in technology and a new nine-bed ICU to reflect the lessons learned during COVID-19. Phases II and III of the $45.7 million capital project will be completed in 2026.
• As part of its commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and team members, Rome Health implemented a weapons detection system and designate specific entrances for access to the facility. Patients have more parking available and registration is conveniently located inside the main entrance on North James Street.
• The Rome Health Foundation surpassed its $16.5 million fund-raising goal for the new ICU and Kaplan Center for Surgical Services, thanks to the remarkable generosity and partnership of individuals, corporations, government, and foundations who believed in the vision for the future of healthcare in Rome.
• Rome Health expanded its surgical robotics program with the addition of a second da Vinci Xi Surgical System that complements our surgeons’ expertise by extending the capabilities of the surgeon’s eyes and hands. For the patient, it means smaller incisions, minimal scarring and pain and faster recovery time.
• Rome Health expanded its robotic surgery program to provide men with a new minimally invasive option to treat an enlarged prostate while preserving sexual function and continence. AMP Urology specialists perform Aquablation therapy at Rome Health using the new HYDROS Robotic System to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as an enlarged prostate.
• In collaboration with Oneida Indian Nation, Rome Health opened Áhsi’ Aethetics by Rome Health at Turning Stone Resort Casino. The medical spa offers a range of advanced aesthetic and wellness treatments for a more youthful, radiant appearance.
• Rome Health expanded its cardiac diagnostic services with the addition of two advanced imaging exams: CT coronary artery calcium scoring and nuclear medicine cardiac amyloidosis imaging. These cutting-edge tests will enhance our ability to detect and diagnose heart disease at earlier stages, offering patients in our community improved access to cardiovascular care.
• Rome Health has received two American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines and Mission: Lifeline® achievement awards for demonstrating commitment to following up-to-date, research-based guidelines for the treatment of heart disease and stroke, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times and fewer readmissions to the hospital.
• Rome Health has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Nursing Home for short-term rehabilitation for the seventh year in a row. In addition, the residential health care facility earned the highest 5-star overall nursing home rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), according to the most recent report updated Nov. 20th.
• Rome Health was recognized by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield with a Blue Distinction Center (BDC) for knee and hip replacement designation. This program identifies hospitals and ambulatory care centers (ASCs) that demonstrate expertise in patient safety and deliver better health outcomes.
• The echocardiography program at Rome Health met the rigorous standards necessary to earn accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. Commission accreditation is a seal of approval that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and a dedication to continuous improvement.
• Rome Health was awarded nearly $5 million over five years through the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation’s nursing initiative. The grant supports Rome Health’s pursuit of magnet® recognition for nursing excellence and provides critical funding to bolster recruitment, retention, and professional development. In addition, the grant supports the implementation of virtual nursing to augment nurses at the bedside.
• Rome Health contributed $223 million to the local economy in 2024, an increase of $14 million over the prior year, according to an economic impact analysis that analyzes the ripple effect of industry spending.
