The organization provides advocacy, support, and services to individuals who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing. These services are available to people of all ages in Cayuga, Onondaga, and Oswego counties.

The New York State Commission for the Blind provides vocational rehabilitation and other direst services to legally blind residents of NY State of all ages. The Syracuse offices serve all ages in Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Tioga, and Tompkins counties; serves only adults in Chemung, Seneca, and Schuyler counties; and only children in St. Lawrence County.

Whole Me, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the deaf and hard of hearing community through accessible, bilingual (ASL and English) programs. These include: youth enrichment program builds communication, leadership and social skills in a barrier-free environment. The deaf seniors program promotes connection, learning and wellness through social gathering and workshops. The workforce development Program supports career readiness and employment for deaf and hard of hearing adults through training, coaching and business partnerships. There is also care coordination services. Together, these programs foster inclusion, self-advocacy and opportunity while celebrating deaf culture and community and advance Whole Me’s mission to create equitable opportunities for the deaf community and their families, promote deaf culture and language and build a stronger, more connected community where everyone can thrive.
