Chris Norman has been promoted to director of educational programming and research and associate medical director at PACE CNY. In this dual role, he will oversee PACE CNY’s educational programming and research development while assisting PACE CNY medical director, physician David Heisig, with clinical and administrative responsibilities.
Norman began working for PACE CNY in 2017 as a full-time nurse practitioner, primarily working in the clinics before transitioning to more home care visits during the pandemic. Since 2023, he has worked part-time while completing his Ph.D. in nursing science at Binghamton University.
Serving as director of educational programming and research he will develop and manage PACE CNY educational programs and coordinate educational curricula between PACE CNY and Loretto. He will also be responsible for finding research opportunities that can help improve patient outcomes.
As associate medical director, he will support the work of the medical director. He will provide clinical support, oversee insurance and clinic practices, serve as a medical liaison with community providers, and assist in developing policies and procedures to enhance patient outcomes.
Norman is a board-certified geriatric nurse practitioner and advanced practice holistic nurse. He holds a master’s degree with honors from Yale University and he completed a post-master’s certificate in interprofessional gerontology at New York University.
“As a nurse practitioner, I am thankful to have this opportunity to also serve as an administrator. I have the heart and soul of a nurse, and I’m excited to use my perspective, voice, and experience for the betterment of all the people we serve,” he said.
