Registered nurse Kelly Reed has been named burn injury prevention and outreach education coordinator. Reed comes to the post with many years of experience and is well versed in the need for community risk reduction related to fire and burns.
Reed has been a registered nurse at Upstate since 1998 and worked for 13 years in the Burn Center as a staff nurse and patient service leader. During her time at the Burn Center, she has assisted with the burn survivor support group, pediatric burn camp and was instrumental in the development of the adult survivor retreats. She also assisted in the development and implementation of burn education for nursing schools.
At Upstate, she also has served as ICU float nurse, clinical documentation improvement specialist, and a outpatient wound care and certified hyperbaric nurse.
