Skills that make you an effective leader? Years of bedside clinical experience and an ongoing active role in patient care have helped me understand our patients’ and caregivers’ needs more effectively. I see our successes and shortcomings firsthand. As a result, I’m able to set priorities and make adjustments quickly when needed.
What are your top three priorities for your organization within the next year? At MVHS, we hold quality, safety and patient experience as critical focus areas in all of our clinical practices.
How can the healthcare industry in the region be improved? Upstate New York is under-resourced in healthcare, especially in rural communities. As a health system we seek to improve patient access, grow essential services and collaborate closely with nearby medical practices and health systems.
