Home care business, owned by Moira Noble, celebrates 15 years serving Central New York

In 2011, Moira Noble started Peace at HomeCare as a one-person operation. With handwritten letters, a self-built website and a passion for helping people remain safely and comfortably at home, she built the company from the ground up.
“If you had asked me a year or so before that I would have said, ‘what the heck are you talking about?’ I was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years on Long Island and then I moved up to Fayetteville and started working for a friend of mine at a printing company. It met my needs at the time,” she said.
But she started looking to the future.
“I’m good at taking care of people. I’m the second of eight children. I was a babysitter all my life,” she explained. “I had been the recipient of home care. I’d gotten sick and needed help. It’s not easy asking for help. I was too embarrassed to ask for help, tried hiding it the best I could. So, it’s easy for me to connect with my clients. I want to stop the stigma. It’s OK to ask for help.”
Founded on the belief that quality care begins with meaningful relationships, Peace at HomeCare has grown into a trusted homecare provider offering personalized support that allows individuals to remain safe and independent in their own homes. It’s a locally owned, women-led homecare agency. Noble describes it as a concierge, boutique-style companion home care agency.
“Peace was built from a personal understanding of what families experience when they need help caring for someone they love. Every decision we’ve made has been guided by one simple belief: treat every client like family,” Noble said. “I started very small. It was me, myself and I. Little by little, I hired one person after another after another. And here we are 15 years later. Reaching this milestone isn’t just a celebration of our business, it’s a celebration of the thousands of lives we’ve had the privilege to touch.”
Peace at HomeCare has 85 caregivers — not all are full-time.
“We’re a small organization. It’s very important to me not to bite off more than we can chew; only serve X amount of clients,” Noble said. “Our client base can be anywhere from say 25 to 35 clients at any one time. If we can’t deliver what I call white-glove concierge service, then I am going to refer those folks to somebody who has the capacity to help them. We do our best to match caregivers to clients.”
The business serves adults of all ages throughout Central New York.
“We deliver personalized home care by providing flexible and timely services for adults of all ages, for as long as needed. The majority of people that we help, the average age of my clients is probably 85 to 90 years old,” she said. “The time they are with us varies. Most of them are long-term; many are with us until they pass away. Once in a while we will have a client that is just rehabbing [after a surgery] and we’re there for just a couple months. We also do intermittent care — a family has their elderly father living with them and they want to go on vacation. We’ll stay with their father 24/7 for the week they are on vacation.”
As part of its client onboarding process, Peace collects a signed payment authorization form which details the client’s preferred payment method. Most services are billed at an hourly rate.
“Our pricing is based on many factors, usually how many hours you need us,” Noble said.
Sept. 23 Ribbon-cutting, Luncheon to Mark Milestone
Peace at HomeCare LLC will celebrate 15 years of serving individuals and families throughout CNY with an anniversary ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a small luncheon, hosted in partnership with the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
The celebration will be from noon to 1 p.m., Sept. 23, at the Peace at HomeCare office, 6838 E. Genesee St., Suite 8B, Fayetteville.
