Crouse Health has recently opened the Sunny B Wound Care Center at 739 Irving Avenue.
Named for Sonya (Sunny) Bergman, the Wound Care Center will offer advanced wound care for people living with chronic, non-healing wounds.
Chronic wounds affect an estimated 6.7 million people in the U.S. and that number is rising, fueled by an aging population and increasing rates of conditions such as diabetes, obesity and the late effects of radiation therapy. If left untreated, chronic wounds can lead to diminished quality of life and possibly amputation of the affected limb.
The Sunny B Wound Care Center offers an evidence-based, systematic approach to advanced wound care. Patients will be given individualized treatment plans that may include specialized wound dressings, debridement, compression therapy, advanced cellular products and topical growth factors, edema management or non-invasive vascular assessment, as well as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), based on the patient’s needs.

The center is equipped with the latest in wound care technology which enables the critical connection between people living with chronic wounds and their multi-disciplinary healthcare team for collaborative, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
This center was made possible by a generous donation from Nomi and Neal Bergman, to honor the legacy of Sonya (Sunny) Bergman.
